Originally a general labourer, Jones began to take electrical courses to work toward a credential in trades and his Industrial Instrumentation Journeyman certification through BCIT in 1996.
With several years of journeyman experience in the pulp and paper industry behind him, Jones began to look for new challenges and develop his workplace skills. Through professional development seminars, workshops and pursuit of increased responsibility in his job, Jones made his career desires a priority. Transitioning from a Tradesman to a Papermill Operations Shift Supervisor in 2003, Kenneth earned credentials at Malaspina University-College before completing his Diploma in Management Studies through Open Learning at TRU.
"I feel that through the educational process I have substantially improved my job security and career options for the future," Jones said. "I know that with continued development, my opportunities are unlimited."
