Sandy Saczkowski is in the business of counselling people to achieve healthier lives.

Saczkowski owns Meka Solutions (www.mekasolutions.com), a company that provides therapeutic counselling services to individuals, couples, families and groups.

“I work with people experiencing relationship or family challenges, struggling with depression or who are just unhappy with the way their lives are going,” she says.

Using supportive listening and interactive guidance techniques, Saczkowski says she truly helps her clients to build healthier lives.

Definitely qualified to help people, Saczkowski holds several degrees in psychology and social work. She’s also a registered social worker.

One of her focus areas includes working with separated and divorced women. “I offer a two-session workshop designed to help women address the issues of dating again,” she says. “In the workshop, we explore their motivations for dating, build their self-confidence and increase awareness of their emotional, physical and sexual safety.”

Saczkowski says she decided to apply her skills in her own business rather than take a job because she wanted to align her professional life with her personal life.

“I wanted to work in a field that I was passionate about yet still have personal freedom,” she says.

Saczkowski admits that self-employment can be all-consuming. “It’s important to take time for yourself and to be with family and friends. If you strive for work/life balance you are more likely to attain it,” she says.

To help her clients feel comfortable and to open up, she’s created a perfect counselling environment. “My main office is located in a beautiful century home in downtown Oakville,” Saczkowski says. “It has an inviting ambiance that’s elegant, warm and soothing.”

Saczkowski is inviting people to check out her unique counselling space during an open house today at 46 John St. in Oakville, Ont. For details, please visit the website at www.mekasolutions.
