Anne Bennett owns Premiere Executive Suites in mid-town Toronto.
Catering to people on the move is usually good business sense. Entrepreneur Anne Bennett has found her business success by combining choice real estate with hospitality and service.
"Our accommodations provide a cost-effective alternative to conventional hotels," Bennett says.
Bennett owns Premiere Executive Suites (www.premieresuites.com), which offers luxury furnished residences to people looking to relocate on a short or long-term basis.
"We serve a mixed clientele including corporations, the insurance industry, film and theatre productions and the real estate market," she says.
Premiere Executive Suites range from studio units to three-bedroom townhouses, each professionally decorated with high quality furnishings, linens and accessories. They also feature a fully equipped kitchen and laundry facilities.
The furnished accommodation industry is an emerging sector of the economy with great growth potential. Bennett believes real estate in Toronto is still undervalued, and therefore, a good investment.
In business for two years, Bennett says she became an entrepreneur to challenge herself. "I wanted to do something different and increase my earning potential. I can't imagine going back to a traditional nine-to-five job."
Bennett obtained her start-up capital from the Business Development Bank of Canada (www.bdc.ca) and from private investors.
While she enjoys being able to set her own agenda, Bennett says her biggest challenge is to focus working "on" her business rather than "in" it. "An entrepreneur can't get caught up in the mundane tasks of running the business, like making bank deposits or filing paperwork," she says. "My job is to get out there to sell and promote the business."
Bennett says her future plans include expanding Premiere Executive Suits into Markham in September 2007.
