"We can handle everything for a client, including real estate purchase or sale, selling unwanted items and moving household contents," entrepreneur Alicia Gordon says.

Gordon is the managing partner of Gordon's Estate Services (www.gordonsestateservices.com), a company supplying integrated real estate and transition solutions for people downsizing or settling estates. The company handles the entire process of selling real estate and moving household contents.

The only company of its kind, the firm offers an innovative combination of services designed to make life easier for people who may be too busy or too far away to arrange purchase, sale and moving details.

Gordon got her start as an entrepreneur when she and her husband took over a family business 22 years ago. "We have since evolved the company based on our own vision and ideas," she says.

Gordon says the best part of owning a business is being in control of one's own destiny. "The worst part is not knowing for sure how things will turn out."

Her advice to startups is simple: keep focused on the market you serve. "It's easy to get distracted by new ideas and paths," Gordon says. "A new business must carve out a clear niche and develop a clear action plan to serve it."

Gordon also values a positive attitude in business. "As an entrepreneur you will run into many roadblocks and experience countless frustrations. A positive 'can-do' attitude will help you to overcome any challenges.

"If you truly believe in your business, you will succeed," she adds.

Future plans for Gordon's Estate Services include building a new brand to reach out to more customers within the company's target market.

"It's an exciting time for our company and I can't wait to get to work in the morning," Gordon says.
