Today, the 33-year-old dynamo is helping people put their best face forward with Take Control Cosmedix, which combines her amazing makeup artistry skills with camouflage therapy products to combat skin disorders including burns, scars and skin cancer.

Gowling is a Hamilton makeup artist who gives people a second chance: "I can't give them a cure but I give them hope and the tools -- makeup and prosthetics -- to get their face and self-confidence back," says Gowling, mother of one.

Gowling helps people suffering everything from acne to those "missing bits and pieces of their face due to accidents, burns and disease ... This gives them their life back."

Gowling's endless drive to educate and help people look and feel their best resulted in her founding the The Makeup Source 12 years ago. Now she is focused on the medical side of the industry with Take Control Cosmedix and developing more innovative concepts.

"I really believe in what I'm doing -- my dream is so close, I can really feel it," says Gowling, who was the first recipient of the Roaring Women Education Fund and she used the money to upgrade her computer skills.
