A:Before you leave an interview with an agency, ask to be informed of your status. Specifically, inquire about what type of employment they think you're qualified for. If you did any tests, ask for your scores, and how your scores compare to the benchmark for the kinds of opportunities you are seeking. Ask how often the agency fills that type of position and when they anticipate having an opportunity for you.
It is usually up to you to keep in touch with the staffing service. Keep an eye on their website for opportunities of interest to you. If you see something you believe you're qualified for, contact them. Don't just assume that if they would have called if they thought you could do the job.
Often agencies have different recruiters posting opportunities, and your file may have been missed in the initial search.
Finally, keep the agency informed of your status. Call every two to three days to remind them of your availability. It's a quick phone call that keeps you top of mind as the jobs roll in.
